꩜Our resources page꩜

Whether you are looking for resources for yourself, or someone else- we hope to help! Here are resources to causes we support and more information!

We offer free commutes to people with either no resources to metaphysical shops. low income families (in multiple ways), offer free commutes to teach to start up metaphysical shop, free pop ups- and free mentoring! we educate people of all ages from 8 to 100!
we cater to low-income families by donations of food through food pantries! We also donate unsold witchcraft products/books to children- typically teens and young adults who cannot afford them or do not have means to access them! we also provide free forms of education about witchcraft on both the podcast, Instagram and occasionally Tik Tok. We also support and fund donations to all the listed causes on this page! Through this website we also hire people who struggle with job loss (& are educated in witchcraft), reduce landfill problems via repurposing clothes AND only buy majority of our products used to make our items through small apothecary shops or small cosmetics shops! I am certain I have missed many things we also do but you get the gist! we shop small, advocate, educate and donate- like witches are supposed to do! i promised that I would do this and this is my offering to my god and my earth!

Well over about 60%. we donate to many different organizations and causes so typically we try to be equal with all of them. 30% goes to donations, 30% goes to paying our employees (i.e the astrologers who help write columns, my assistants who help me organize times and dates, and our digital artist who writes captions to prevent a.i generation use), then 40% goes back into the business- paying for the LLC, commutes, paying for lawyers if we DO get in trouble protesting, rent for the space, the shirts, and then for the supplies we need to make more items (so that we can donate even more- but since we use smaller businesses it can be more expensive!)

it matters because our goal is to keep the economy regulated, bring awareness to social, economic/political issues, help causes that help people, and help businesses thrive while dealing with this terrible economic crash- all while teaching witchcraft!..
and doing our part is important to us!

yes our shirts and other things sold go towards donations BUT if you cant afford it or simply don't like the items- we leave these next few paragraphs to those who want to help either via petition, via time, or via signature/awareness!
HERE IS RESOURCES/EDUCATION/ ON CAUSES WE DONATE TO AND HOW TO HELP!
FIRSTLY! LET'S TALK ABOUT DATA CENTERS AND AI!

Generative A.I. is extremely popular amongst adults and teens right now! AND almost every business is ALSO using A.I.
THE NUMBER 1 THING YOU CAN DO TO HELP THE ENVORNMENT- STOP F*CKING USING GENERATIVE AI! Our team has PERSONALLY hired someone to MAKE CAPTIONS AS TO AVOID A.I. I HAVE LEARNED PHOTOSHOP TO AVOID A.I.... YOU CAN DO THIS TO!
PLEASE READ THIS TO UNDERSTAND THE HARMS OF A.I.
How AI Impacts us SOCIETALLY
1. Job Displacement and Economic Inequality:
Perhaps the most widely discussed concern is AI-driven automation leading to widespread job displacement. AI systems are increasingly capable of performing tasks previously requiring human cognitive abilities, impacting both blue-collar and white-collar professions. The ripple effect can exacerbate economic inequality and social unrest.
2. Bias and Discrimination Amplification:
AI systems are trained on data, and if that data reflects existing societal biases, the resulting AI models will inevitably perpetuate and amplify those biases. This is particularly problematic in high-stakes applications such as:
- Criminal Justice: Predictive policing algorithms trained on biased arrest data can lead to discriminatory targeting of specific communities, perpetuating a cycle of injustice. The COMPAS recidivism algorithm, for example, has been shown to disproportionately flag Black defendants as higher risk, even when controlling for other factors.
- Hiring: AI-powered recruitment tools can discriminate against certain demographic groups based on subtle patterns in resume data or interview performance, effectively automating discrimination.
- Loan Applications: Algorithmic lending platforms can deny loans to qualified applicants based on biased data regarding race, gender, or socioeconomic status, further exacerbating existing inequalities.
3. Erosion of Privacy:
AI thrives on data, and the increasing ubiquity of AI systems necessitates the collection and analysis of vast amounts of personal information. This raises serious concerns about privacy erosion.
- Surveillance Technologies: AI-powered facial recognition systems, coupled with ubiquitous surveillance cameras, can track individuals’ movements and activities in real-time, creating a chilling effect on freedom of expression and assembly.
- Data Breaches: The concentration of sensitive data in AI systems makes them attractive targets for cyberattacks. A successful data breach could expose millions of individuals’ personal information, leading to identity theft, financial fraud, and other forms of harm.
- Algorithmic Profiling: AI algorithms can be used to create detailed profiles of individuals based on their online behavior, social media activity, and purchasing history. These profiles can then be used for targeted advertising, political manipulation, or even discriminatory practices.
4. Manipulation and Misinformation:
AI can be used to create sophisticated forms of manipulation and misinformation, posing a serious threat to democratic institutions and social cohesion.
- Deepfakes: AI-generated videos and audio recordings that convincingly mimic real people can be used to spread false information, damage reputations, and sow discord. The potential for ‘cheap fakes’ (easily produced with minimal technical skill) to influence public opinion is significant.
- Automated Propaganda: AI-powered bots can generate and disseminate propaganda on social media, amplifying extremist views and polarizing public discourse. These bots can be incredibly sophisticated, mimicking human behavior and evading detection.
- Personalized Persuasion: AI algorithms can analyze individuals’ psychological profiles and tailor persuasive messages to their specific vulnerabilities, making them more susceptible to manipulation.
5. Autonomous Weapons Systems (AWS):
The development of AWS, also known as ‘killer robots,’ raises profound ethical and security concerns. These systems, which can select and engage targets without human intervention, have the potential to:
- Lower the Threshold for Conflict: AWS could make it easier for states to initiate military action, as they reduce the risk to human soldiers.
- Escalate Conflicts: The speed and autonomy of AWS could lead to rapid escalation in conflicts, making them more difficult to control.
- Create New Forms of Warfare: AWS could enable new forms of warfare, such as autonomous drone swarms, which could overwhelm traditional defenses.
- Raise Accountability Issues: Determining responsibility for the actions of an AWS in the event of civilian casualties or other unintended consequences is a complex legal and ethical challenge.
6. Existential Risk (Long-Term Concerns):
While perhaps less immediate than the aforementioned issues, the potential for AI to pose an existential risk to humanity is a subject of serious debate among AI researchers and ethicists.
- Unforeseen Consequences: As AI systems become more complex and autonomous, it may become increasingly difficult to predict their behavior and ensure that they align with human values.
- Control Problem: Ensuring that advanced AI systems remain under human control is a significant technical and philosophical challenge. What if an AI, in pursuit of its programmed goals, takes actions that are harmful to humans?
- Superintelligence: The emergence of superintelligence, an AI that vastly exceeds human intelligence, could pose a fundamental threat to human existence. A superintelligent AI could, in theory, outsmart and outmaneuver humans, potentially pursuing goals that are incompatible with human survival.
7. Deskilling and Cognitive Decline:
- Dependency on Automation: Individuals may become overly dependent on AI systems for decision-making, reducing their ability to think critically and solve problems independently.
- Loss of Skills: As AI systems automate routine tasks, individuals may lose the skills and knowledge required to perform those tasks manually.
- Cognitive Laziness: Constant reliance on AI assistants and recommendation systems can lead to cognitive laziness, reducing mental stimulation and potentially contributing to cognitive decline.
Why is AI Bad for the Environment?
AI, while promising transformative advancements, poses a significant threat to the environment primarily through its massive energy consumption, required for training and running increasingly complex models, and the hardware manufacturing process that contributes heavily to e-waste and resource depletion. The environmental impact of AI is not just theoretical; it is a tangible concern that demands immediate attention and sustainable solutions.
Energy Consumption
The most direct and perhaps most concerning environmental impact of AI stems from its insatiable demand for energy. Training large language models (LLMs) like GPT-4 or PaLM requires vast computational resources, typically housed in data centers
The Power Hungry Beast of Training
Training these models involves feeding them enormous datasets and iteratively adjusting their parameters until they achieve the desired performance. This process consumes an astounding amount of electricity. Imagine the energy footprint of a small nation – that’s the kind of power we’re talking about. Recent studies have estimated that training a single large AI model can generate carbon emissions equivalent to the lifetime emissions of five cars. This figure underscores the magnitude of the problem. Further complicating matters, many of these data centers rely on fossil fuels for their electricity, exacerbating greenhouse gas emissions.
Running the Machine: Inference at Scale
Beyond the initial training phase, the inference stage, where AI models are deployed to make predictions or generate responses, also consumes significant energy. Consider the millions of daily searches powered by AI, or the billions of personalized recommendations offered by e-commerce platforms. Each of these interactions requires energy to process, and collectively, these inference tasks contribute substantially to AI’s overall environmental footprint. As AI becomes increasingly integrated into everyday life, its energy demands will only intensify, unless sustainable alternatives are adopted.
The Hardware Hurdle: Manufacturing and E-waste
The environmental impact of AI extends beyond energy consumption to the hardware infrastructure that supports it. The production of specialized chips, like GPUs (Graphics Processing Units) and TPUs (Tensor Processing Units), required for AI tasks is resource-intensive and generates significant e-waste.
Mining for Intelligence: Resource Depletion
Manufacturing these chips requires rare earth minerals and other valuable resources, the extraction of which can have devastating environmental consequences. Mining operations often involve deforestation, habitat destruction, and the release of toxic chemicals into the environment. Furthermore, the supply chains for these minerals are often complex and opaque, making it difficult to ensure ethical and sustainable sourcing.
The Mountain of E-waste: A Growing Concern
AI hardware becomes obsolete relatively quickly as newer, more powerful chips are developed. This rapid obsolescence contributes to a growing mountain of e-waste
which is often improperly disposed of!!!!!! leading to soil and water contamination. The components of AI hardware contain hazardous materials, such as lead and mercury, which can pose serious health risks if not handled correctly. The circular economy, which emphasizes reuse and recycling, offers a potential solution, but it requires significant investment and infrastructure development
