There is varieties of suitable "Antidotes" for each "problem" area. I used extensive knowlege in biology, dermatology, chemistry, herbology AND agriculture to get a general idea around bases designed for suited skin types so we could be EXCLUSIVE to someone's issue while ALSO being inclusive!
The whole premise of our goal is to remove toxic pollution that gets absorbed through skin and hair then to tackle something as small as aging!
The general consensus was to build a line of products but make it more benefical/CLEAN (AND MORE EFFECTIVE) so that I and other women can feel clean & pretty without drowning ourselves in sulfates, silicones, carcinogenics, dyes, preservatives, mineral oils, random synthetic mixtures and toxins.
The honest fact is.. vegetable glycerin, cetryl alcohol, synthetic sulfates, dyes AND fragrances (all commonly found in most shampoos/face washes/face masks) are not good for your hair OR skin!
Infact.. let's compare it to nestle water real quick! ..or any water brand...
if you go to grab a bottle of water please look at the ingredients! Youll see water... and typically 2 other ingredients! One of those ingredients (99.9999% of the time) is SODIUM. Contrary to belief the sodium is not meant for its antimicrobial OR purifying properties, As the content does not have enough salt PURITY to detox/purify the water (especially compared to the filtering systems that ALL water companies have that either use charcoal filters/boiling OR both!)-so why do they put sodium in there then? Well theres 2 reasons- 1, our bodies *despite being made to drink water* dont have the compacity to understand what REAL PURE h2o tastes like, our body is essentially not used to it. And this is where the first chemical compounds comes in- its residue from the purifying process yes but its also a diluted substance to save money during the process of boiling AND selling the water.
And finally NUMBER 2. Early in 7th grade we debunked the theory that there needed to be sodium and I'm sure you guys have also heard this theory from scientists and dieting physicians alike.. theres not enough sodium to provide electrolytes OR detoxification so why is it there? Simple. You're thirsty, you grab a nice cold water and chug it. Then your body responds with.....wanting more. And somehow you're still thirsty but you JUST had water.
The water is the temporary relief of pressure. You're hot, you have cold water.
But those companies make money based off how thirsty you are.
salt dehydrates.. hence why you're still thirsty after.
youll notice this with conditioners. You get a slightly more expensive shampoo and conditioner thinking itll hydrate and well... for a little bit it does. You buy more. You find relief knowing your hair is soft and healthy until... it doesnt do what it used to do. Theres less volume, less softness, its not the same..
Now you see where im getting. Gycol and glycerine clog hair follicles, this causes a mass shed or essentially trapping toxins INSIDE your scalp. You get relief when taking a hot shower which in turn opens up the follicles do to steam... then you repeat the process. You fill your follicles with toxins over and over. its why I started making my own shttt years ago BTW lol
those brands arent familiar with the porosity of your hair. Most offer "frizz reduction" while providing a synthetic keratin that eats at the scalp OR builds grime....and causes inflammation. Their synthetic compound of keratin lacks the one thing that makes keratin important... protein. Keratin comes from protein of animals OR plants. Companies have essentially found a gateway to create synthetic lab keratin which reduces the cost by a staggering .22 cents/1 Oz.. the average bottle of shampoo/conditioner is 8 ounces and theyre risking your hair to save a dollar... quite literally.
We've made this collection to instill natural beauty while also being cautious and aware of the environmental toxins that come with going outside and USING shampoos mass produced in factories. Im not saying to be overly worried but your chances of getting contamination are higher from a larger business AND the working conditions allow for bacteria to manufacture.
Remember how I said hair follicles (and pores) dilate/expand when introduced to steam.. think of a factory for a second. Most of those factories are located in warm places like california then distributed to colder places like Illinois to be sold off through bigger chains like walmart or CVS. The average factory climate is between 72 and 80 degrees depending on the amount of workers (the amount of workers is a whole different story) but excessive labor can raise your body temp anywhere from 2 to 4 and a half degrees, 72 degrees is already when you start to sweat.. imagine that real quick.
With a mixture of synthetic chemicals, steam, excessive workers, preservatives and the drastic change in temperature between the parcel exchange from Anaheim to somewhere like Chicago ... yes... I can imagine your scalp or skin products arent as effective as they should be.. that's not even mentioning if youve accounted for your hair density or hair type.
Everything I've made is geard to be EXCLUSIVE while being INCLUSIVE. Your hair, skin AND face deserve tolerance and healing from NATURAL ingredients, the way it was intended to be thousands of years ago.
